Jennifer Gillentine received her Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Texas at Tyler in May 2002. After working at Clarkston Elementary as a first-grade teacher, she moved to All Saints Episcopal School to become a part-time kindergarten teacher and part-time learning specialist in the school’s Learning Enrichment Center (LEC) alongside Mrs. Warren. She would eventually become a full-time teacher in the LEC, working with students from Lower School to Upper School.
During this time, she received her S.E.E. Teacher Level Certification through the Shelton School and her Master’s degree in Education as a Reading Specialist from the University of Texas at Tyler in May 2012. She also earned her certifications as a Certified Academic Language Practitioner (CALP) and Licensed Dyslexia Practitioner (LDP).
After Mrs. Warren left All Saints to co-found Bridgemark, Mrs. Gillentine became the Director of the LEC for three years before moving to Moore Middle School to work in the Special Education department. She received her Special Education and English as a Second Language certifications during this time.
In 2004, Mrs. Gillentine married her husband, Jason, who works for Child Protective Services. They have a snorkie, Berkman, and two cats, Harper and Lee. They love to travel, especially to England. They have been a part of the National Trivia League since 2015, competing at the local level weekly and at the national championship annually.
Mrs. Gillentine, also known as Mrs. G, is excited to join the Bridgemark family and believes that no matter a child’s ability, effort can kindle that ability and eventually turn it into achievement.
