Karen Lanford graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education. She has taught many disciplines in her 40 years of teaching. Her favorites are biology, life science, and leadership.

Mrs. Lanford has spent her career in both the public and private school systems. Along with her classroom responsibilities, she has enjoyed many coaching assignments at the middle school and high school levels. She recently retired from All Saints Episcopal School, where she spent 16 years teaching and coaching.

Mrs. Lanford was blessed with the opportunity to share her love of nature and the environment as director of outdoor education at All Saints. This experience changed her as an educator. Mrs. Lanford saw the change in her students as they engaged their senses in true discovery. The woods became the greatest teacher of all!

Mrs. Lanford is thrilled to share her passion with our upper school students. Together, they will journey through complex and controversial environmental issues that forever change our world. She is excited to take the “inside out” with her students and ponder possible solutions to real-world problems.

Mrs. Lanford is married to David, and they live in Tyler.  They are blessed with two amazing sons, Clint and Ross, and wonderful daughters-in-love, Shanda and Abby. God’s greatest gifts are their four most perfect grandsons, Sam, Jack, Daxton, and Drake. The Lanfords enjoy all outdoor activities, sports, and family time together.
